Former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney will be in the public eye next week at two events in two different provinces. The first event is hosted by Canada 2020, an independent, progressive think-tank based in Ottawa. According to their website, Canada 2020′s objective is “to inform and influence debate, to identify progressive policy solutions and to help redefine federal government for a modern Canada.”

The think-tank has proposed a question to Mr. Mulroney from a public policy perspective: ‘What is the next big thing?’

Canada’s 18th prime minister will endeavour to answer this at the exclusive dinner event.

Then Mr. Mulroney will return to Nova Scotia for a keynote speech at a fundraising dinner in Stellarton. Before he became prime minister, Mr. Mulroney ran in the riding of Central Nova when MP Elmer MacKay (justice minister Peter MacKay’s father) stepped aside.

The dinner is expected to bring about 300 people to the Pictou campus of the Nova Scotia Community College.
